Two Brooklyn residents were arrested in Inwood on Wednesday after a traffic stop escalated into a struggle with police, according to Nassau County police.
Police said officers stopped a man and woman riding a moped. As officers approached, both allegedly became aggressive.
The man, identified as Jason Adams, attempted to flee on the moped but was unable to do so and instead ran from the scene.
The woman, Nicole Demmerele, was taken into custody at the scene.

The Nassau County's Canine Unit responded and assisted in the search for Adams, who was later located and arrested.

According to police, both suspects resisted arrest and became violent and combative during their apprehensions, resulting in injuries to two officers.
Investigators later determined the moped had allegedly been stolen from New York City.
Adams is charged with assault, criminal possession of stolen property, resisting arrest and multiple vehicle and traffic law violations. Demmerele is charged with assault, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration.
