The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has suspended an employee at Newark Liberty International Airport for a security breach.
Officials say a security worker failed to screen two bags last Thursday before sending them to a staging area to be put on two international flights.
The TSA says the problem was discovered before the planes took off as scheduled. Officials say a co-worker spotted the lapse before the bags actually made it onto any aircraft.
The TSA says the worker has been removed from screening luggage and will be disciplined.
