A 75-year-old Trenton school is in dire need of a renovations, officials say.
Trenton Central High School has had a number of problems from leaky roofs to old floors, say local leaders such as Principal James Earle.
"If we expect [students] to act and react first class, we need to provide them first-class resources," Earle says.
Earle says repairs are being done on the building on a regular basis, but claims that many of the severe problems are ones that cannot be seen, so the fixes don?t fully address the issues.
Gerald Murphy, vice president of the School Development Authority, says building a new school would be easier than renovating the old one. Murphy adds that a budget of $100 million has been set aside because of legislation passed by Gov. Jon Corzine last summer.
A plan for a new school will be presented to the superintendent in about a month.
