Trenton's bravest are mourning a firefighter who died Tuesday night, weeks after suffering an apparent heart attack while rescuing several people from a fire.
Manny Rivera, 45, and his fellow firefighters were called to a fire at a home on Washington Street on Feb. 9. Rivera reportedly had just pulled a fire victim, who was hanging from a window, down to safety when he collapsed.
"Manny was proud of his heritage and fiercely proud of his family and friends. All those who had the privilege of knowing Manny would agree that his selfless generosity knew no bounds,? said a statement from Trenton Fire and Emergency Services.
Rivera was a 14-year veteran of the department. Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
