Tow truck driver fatally struck on shoulder of I-287
Daniel Ortiz, of Hopatcong, was struck by a Jeep SUV that entered the shoulder on I-287 in Harding Township, state police say.

State police say a tow truck driver was struck and fatally injured while assisting a disabled vehicle on Interstate 287 around 11:45 a.m. Wednesday.
Officials say Daniel Ortiz, of Hopatcong, was struck by a Jeep SUV that entered the shoulder on I-287 in Harding Township. Ortiz's tow truck and the disabled Honda were also struck.
Ortiz, 24, was taken to a hospital and succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the Jeep sustained minor injuries.
