Tuesday was the last day to register to vote for the
general election, with Election Day only 21 days away.
The deadline includes online registration, in-person
registration and mail-in registration.
To register to vote in New
Jersey, one must be a United States citizen and at least 17
years old. Seventeen-year-olds can't vote until they have
reached the age of 18. Registerees must also be a resident of their county for 30 days before the election, a person not serving a sentence of incarceration as
the result of a conviction of any indictable offense under the laws of this or
another state or of the United States.
Anyone registering
online will need their date of birth and either a valid driver’s license, ID
card or Social
Security number.
