Britney Spears has checked herself into a mental health facility, according to TMZ.

TMZ says the pop singer is distraught over her father's recent illness diagnosis.

Spears posted on her Instagram a quote that reads: "Fall in love with taking care of yourself, mind, body, spirit."

Spears announced back in January she was taking a break to care for her father after he suffered a life-threatening colon rupture.

Her new album and Las Vegas residency show are currently on hold.

It was supposed to launch in February.
