Well news twelve's Lauren de is in Saddle River where we saw some of that destructive flooding this morning, Lauren, how does it look? Now, we're still noticing that flooding. Look at this behind me. This is East Allendale Road. This is a bridge that crosses over Saddle River. This is separating West Saddle River Road from East Saddle River Road, talking to a few locals. They say they've seen flooding much worse. This is bad looking at the flood gauges in the area. This is that major flooding at about 7 ft 11 ft by the way is what would be the historic flooding uh, here or the record. So, uh, we actually have a gentleman actually that was trying to get to school this morning, Aidan. You attempted to drive through this water. What happened? That's right. I was just on my way to school and I was following traffic and all of a sudden my car felt like it turned into the James Bond Submarine. I was, my car was like halfway under the water and it just stalled out and I parked here on the side of the road. It was, um, I've been here for a while. A scary experience. I mean, what was that like when you felt like you were in the James Bond submarine? I can't imagine. Well, I was worried I was gonna get stuck in the middle of it and as you can see it's really deep over there so it's really fast too. Yeah. I'm glad I got over here where it's safe. Yeah. And you already caught the fire and the police and everyone, they're getting you a tow truck, you got it. It's on the way now. All right. Aid in. Well, hopefully you can get to school in time and all right, and hopefully everything is good. We'll be here, you know, and if you need anything, we'll be out here. But thanks for telling us and I, I've been in that situation too, by the way, you're just going with the flow of traffic. It's easier said than done my first time. But, uh, I learn my lesson, that's for sure. There you go. Thank you. Listen, we all have to learn lessons sometimes. So, uh, you got high water here. So again, just be careful. Take Aidan's word for it. If it's your first time, you come up across the water. Look how fast that's moving. You don't even want to walk across it. That's just enough to knock you off your feet there. So just be careful everyone. This is saddle river talking to a few people. They said there's houses. We, we we saw it, we showed you the water into people's front yards and backyards. So just please be careful out there, never drive through any high water on the roads. You just never know how deep it is.
