A Montessori school in Little Falls was evacuated Thursday after authorities received threats against the campus, police said.

Little Falls police responded to Monarch Montessori School, located at 2 Newark Pompton Tpke., after the threats were reported. Officials said the school was safely evacuated, and all children were accounted for.

The Little Falls Police Department, Passaic County Prosecutor's Office and the FBI are investigating to determine the source and legitimacy of the threat.

Police said there is no immediate danger to the public.

"The safety of our students, staff and school community is always a top priority and any threats against our schools are investigated immediately, being treated with the highest level of urgency," the Little Falls Police Department said in a statement.
