Chocolate lovers came to Edison this weekend as The Chocolate Expo returned to the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center, bringing dozens of vendors and lots of sweet treats to the area.
The event, sponsored by News 12, featured more than 100 vendors offering chocolate, baked goods, fruits, wines, food, specialty drinks and even international desserts.
Organizers said the expo is designed to be a family-friendly event,
“It’s like a holiday, but not. Some parents say ‘We don’t let them have any candy!’ You know, they want to wait for Halloween. We’re not Halloween, but we have lots of chocolate, and they can try and taste and have a lot of fun,” said Larry Rosenberg, associate producer of The Chocolate Expo.
The event also included a ‘Kidz Zone’ with face painting and balloon twisting. As well as special appearances and signings from several actors from the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory film.
