A Rochester, NY woman has been charged with arson-related offenses after authorities said she intentionally set a car on fire in Wallington.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office said 27-year-old Lilly J. Hammond was arrested Tuesday after an investigation into a vehicle fire on Lincoln Place.

Police and firefighters responded around 7:44 p.m. Monday and found a 2004 Ford Mustang fully engulfed in flames. The fire was extinguished, and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Arson Squad was notified.

Investigators said Hammond intentionally set the Mustang on fire.

Hammond was charged with arson, criminal mischief, failure to control or report a dangerous fire, and contempt of court, a disorderly persons offense. She was placed in the custody of the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office pending a court appearance.
