A woman has been arrested after police received several reports of someone intentionally cutting and removing Verizon wires from utility poles throughout Lakewood.

On April 9, Lakewood police launched an investigation and began reviewing surveillance footage from multiple locations within the township. Through their investigation, and with assistance from Lakewood Shomrim — a civilian safety watch group — detectives were able to identify a vehicle believed to be associated with the incidents.

"Lakewood detectives responded to the scene and identified one of the occupants as the suspect captured in surveillance footage connected to the wire theft investigation," Lakewood police said in a statement.

The suspect, identified as Bobbi Jo Dunn, was placed under arrest and charged with multiple counts of criminal mischief and theft. She was transported to the Ocean County Jail pending a future court hearing.
