The Tennessee Senate passed a resolution to honor Wall Township teenager Jillian Ludwig, who was killed by a stray bullet on Nov. 7.
The 18-year-old was shot while walking near campus at Belmont University in Nashville, where she was a freshman.
Jillian’s Law is working its way through the Tennessee legislature.
That proposed bill would keep violent criminals deemed incompetent to stand trial committed, and not let them back on the street.
It would also keep guns out of their hands.
Tennessee is the first state taking legislative action on Justice for Jillian, a movement her family and friends would like to see go national.
