There is a FREEZE WARNING in effect for central and southern New Jersey this morning as the temperature approaches the freezing mark for morning lows. This will end the growing season in this part of the state. This freeze warning is timely and seasonal for this part of New Jersey.
FORECAST
Sunshine prevails today as chilly conditions also remain. Highs today reach near 60 degrees, and it is totally a fall-feel.
Clouds pass through Tuesday as the weather gets slightly warmer with highs in the lower to mid-60s. A front passes just to the north tomorrow, which keeps the rain away from New Jersey.
Wednesday will be warmer, as a result, with highs near 75 degrees.
Thursday is a great day too, with highs near 80.
A front with rain is finally in the forecast for Friday with at least 0.25 inches of rain predicted. This would be the first measurable rain since Sep. 29.
October is on track for being the driest month ever recorded for Newark - which would be only for observing a "trace" of rainfall, which means it sprinkled but the rain was not measurable by the weather gauge. The drought is expected to get worse this week.
