A teenage girl fought back against a potential attacker after a school dance in Westfield last week.
Police say the incident occurred when three teenage girls, ages 13 to 14, were walking home after the Edison Middle School dance Friday around 10:15 p.m. The girls told police a male grabbed one of them on the thigh and said, ?Come over here.? Authorities say the girl screamed and kicked, which caused the suspect to let her go.
The suspect is described as heavyset, in his 50s with a full gray beard and moustache.
An e-mail was sent out by the school to all parents about the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (908) 654-8477.
