Trenton police say inattentive driving was the cause of the crash that left a Notre Dame High School student critically injured on Route 129 last week.
The 17-year-old driver of that car has received a summons for reckless driving.
Officials say the driver and a 16-year-old passenger were inside a Ford Explorer when it crashed on Route 129 last Friday morning as the two were on their way to Notre Dame High School.
The driver suffered minor injuries and the passenger was critically injured, although News 12 is told his condition has improved dramatically.
The school community has rallied around the teen as he recovers and will be sponsoring a blood drive in his honor.
"The Notre Dame family continues to pray for all those involved in the accident. We work diligently to protect their privacy at this time," said Principal Mary Ivins.
Three other people in other cars were also injured in the crash, but none seriously.
The blood drive in honor of the passenger of the car will be held on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
