Police say a 16-year-old from Poughkeepsie is facing felony charges after making an online threat that closed Marist College Friday.
Campus officials say all classes and activities were canceled after they received an anonymous threat via Twitter at around 6 a.m. The threat warned that some form of shooting would take place on the campus Friday. The Poughkeepsie school sent out an alert saying all buildings on campus were closed and advising students to stay in their dorms until further notice.
Authorities determined that there was no credible danger to the college, according to Marist.
Marist says the campus is open, but classes and offices will remain closed. Other activities will take place as scheduled tonight.
Police say the teen has been charged with making a terroristic threat.
