A man and women were killed in an overnight fire Monday in Teaneck, Bergen County prosecutors announced Thursday.

They say 35-year-old Ranjodh Singh IV, 47-year-old Manjit Kaur and an unidentified woman were trapped in the basement apartment of the residence on Palisades Avenue.

Singh IV and the unidentified woman died due to their injuries, prosecutors say.

Kaur remains hospitalized and is still being treated for severe burns she sustained in the fire.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Arson Task Force and Teaneck police initiated an investigation and determined that the cause and origin of the fire is suspicious.
