UPDATE: The prosecutor's office says that a man and woman were killed in a Teaneck house fire.

Below is the original coverage of the fire.

An overnight fire in Teaneck left several people injured.

The fire reportedly went to three alarms and started in the basement of a home on Palisades Avenue Monday around 12:30 a.m. Officials say multiple residents were trapped in the basement of the residence.

The town manager of Teaneck told News 12 New Jersey that three people were seriously injured. All three victims were taken to Hackensack University Medical Center.

Palisades Avenue was shut down with the police and fire investigation activity. The Bergen County Crime Scene Investigation Unit is on scene Monday.

An investigation is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office and the Teaneck Police Department.

News 12 reached out to the prosecutor's office and the sheriff's department for more information.
