Five people were injured when a tanker truck overturned and crushed two cars Wednesday in Bernardsville
It happened around 8:30 a.m. on Anderson Hill Road near Seney Drive.
Bernardsville police tells News 12's Tony Caputo that the tanker was not supposed to be on the road because it is too heavy.
The tanker, carrying gasoline, was trying to get up a hill when it stalled out and started drifting backwards, police say. The two cars involved in the incident were behind the truck.
The people who were injured are in stable condition, with one person taken from the scene by a medevac helicopter, according to police. The truck driver refused medical treatment.
Anderson Hill Road is currently closed, according to Bernardsville Police Department. Drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
