A rabbi at an Edison synagogue says he found swastikas spray-painted on the walls of the building Tuesday morning, leading him to believe he was targeted for speaking out about another hate crime.
A 19-year-old student at the Rabbi Jacob Joseph Yeshiva was beaten during the holiday of Rosh Hashanah. At the time, Rabbi Dr. Berhnard Rosenberg had publicly condemned the attack, and he now believes the blue swastikas were painted by teenagers at 91 Jefferson Ave. in retaliation.
"Anti-Semitism does exist," he says. "Don't think it doesn't."
Rosenberg says he is now considering installing security cameras at the synagogue.
