Police say two suspected kidnappers from Georgia and their victim were found during a vehicle stop near the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee.
Port Authority police spokesman Joe Pentangelo says that officers stopped the car en route to New York Thursday morning. They recognized the vehicle matching the description of one involved in a reported kidnapping in Georgia.
The suspects were identified as Ishmael Castejon-Gulzar, 24, of Atlanta and Ricardo Coacio Reyes, 30, Norcross, Georgia.
They are charged with kidnapping, carjacking, aggravated assault and related offenses. They are being on $2 million bail each in the Bergen County Jail.
The 39-year-old victim from Gwinnett County, Georgia, had been stabbed in the left leg, but is expected to be OK.
The motive behind the alleged kidnapping is unclear. No attorney information is available.
