A suspect was hospitalized after being struck in an officer-involved shooting in Fort Lee Sunday.
The shooting happened outside 485 Summit Ave., near where the roadway intersects with Edwin Avenue. But the circumstances that led to the shooting are still unclear.
According to the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office, the suspect is in critical but stable condition at Hackensack University Medical Center.
Several Fort Lee police officers were taken to Englewood Hospital for evaluation.
Julene Stassou says she heard several shots, a pause, five to six more shots and then heard a man yell "get down."
"We went into the closet where we remained locked the door for the next 15 minutes because we heard sirens and screaming," she says. "We heard a man say 'get down.' It was quite scary."
