Police have announced an arrest in the hit-and-run death of the wife of Centenary University's president.
Jeanne Murphy was apparently out for her morning walk in Hackettstown on Saturday morning when she was struck by a vehicle.
Jefferson Chimbo-Pelaez, 25, was found later and has been charged in the incident.
Murphy was a former U.S. Army Colonel and a member of the U.S. Olympic Committee.
She was reportedly extremely active in the local Hackettstown community, including as a member of the Hackettstown Business Improvement District (BID), Women's Club of New Jersey, and at community and University events honoring fellow veterans.
