Surprise, surprise -- Man hires quartet to sing to girlfriend at Wawa for Valentine’s Day
This Valentine’s Day, signs of love were in the air everywhere, even at the Wawa.

Pat Eldridge is the cashier at the Wawa in Toms River, and she thought her boyfriend Rich Vanetti forgot Valentines' Day.
“She texted me at work saying, you know, Happy Valentine's Day and I sent her a text back saying oh crap is that today?” says Rich.

But what Pat didn’t know was, there were four guys out in the parking lot who ended Rich's romantic ruse.

A quartet from the Oceanaires, a long time barbershop chorus from Ocean County, does singing Valentines for hire every year.

This one, to Pat from Rich with love.

“I wanted to cry, but I'm at work, so I held it in,” says Pat.

Proceeds from the singing Valentines go to the Oceanaires’ nonprofit organization.

The money supports their community service, including performances at hospitals, rest homes and rehab centers.
