Surf City business owners are hoping tourists pack the beaches, despite the discovery of War World I munitions in March.
Officials say they?ve removed all of the munitions that were found buried in the sand. The beach opened two days ago, and some people have already headed out to bask in the sun.
There are signs on the beach warning people about how deep they can dig in the sand, but not everyone is worried.
?I?ve been down here most of my life and I think that people are still going to come to the beach,? business owner Mary Jan Oswald said. ?They?re still going to enjoy themselves and businesses aren?t going to be hurt by it at all.?
