Parents and students are adjusting their schedules as officials investigate the cause of a moldy mess at a Jersey City school.
Workers replacing a gym floor at the Whitney M. Young Jr. School/P.S. 15 last week discovered the problem under the floor.A school official told News 12 New Jersey off camera that the superintendent felt it was best to temporarily close the school.
Children gather in front of P.S. 15, where buses wait to shuttle them to various schools around the city. Pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students are now attending P.S. 29 Annex. Grades one through three attend Bethune Center. Fourth- and Fifth-grade students are going to M.S. 41. Autistic children are being bused to P.S. 14.
There is no official word on how long it will take to clean up the mess. News 12 is awaiting comment from the superintendent's office.
