New Jersey is in the midst of a bad flu outbreak, with over 4,800 cases of the flu reported this season.
Health officials are warning people to stay indoors as much as possible in order to avoid getting sick or infecting other people.
But with the Super Bowl and Super Bowl parties scheduled this weekend, many New Jerseyans may not be able to avoid going out among the public.
Health officials say that there are a few ways to avoid getting sick while at Super Bowl parties this year:
- Don’t “double dip” chips in dip.
- Don’t use your hands to pick up snacks. Use tongs, forks or spoons to pick up the food.
- Allow guests to mark their cups so that they know which one is theirs.
Officials say they fear that U.S. Bank Stadium, home of this year’s Super Bowl, may become the site of a large flu outbreak.
Fans are being asked to get vaccinated ahead of the game and are being told to stay home if they are sick. Authorities are sanitizing everything at The NFL Experience Pop-up Park.
