Despite the sunshine, conditions remained windy and chilly near the ocean to remind many that summer-like temperatures have yet to fully arrive at the Jersey Shore.

The sun was shining Saturday morning along the boardwalk to give residents and visitors a much-needed break from the rainy weather that impacted the Memorial Day holiday weekend.

Despite the sunshine, conditions remained windy and chilly near the ocean to remind many that summer-like temperatures have yet to fully arrive at the Jersey Shore.

Even with the cooler weather, people were out early enjoying the morning. Some took advantage of the dry conditions for a walk or run along the boardwalk, while families spent time at nearby playgrounds.

The boardwalk was relatively quiet during the early morning hours, with many businesses still closed. However, activity is expected to pick up throughout the day as more visitors head to the shore.

Visitors said the cooler temperatures were not a problem.

“I walk every morning on the boardwalk, winter, spring, summer, fall,” said Eddie, an Ocean Township resident. “It’s just a beautiful day today. The colder air makes it feel more refreshing when you’re walking.”

While many are hoping warmer temperatures arrive soon, those who visited Asbury Park Saturday morning appeared happy to enjoy the sunshine and make the most of a pleasant start to the weekend.
