AIR QUALITY ALERT: The National Weather Service has issued an air quality alert for parts of the state on Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Warmer temperatures are arriving in New Jersey soon.
The last time we had 90 degrees for a daily high temperature was Aug. 15. That was 292 days ago. It's been some time, but now the wait is over. The question we have with the end of this week's forecast is how many 90s will we see? I think there will be two, but three days are possible.
A broad dome of beautiful weather lies situated right over the Chesapeake Bay area. It has allowed New Jersey a somewhat sunny and comfortably warm weather situation. As this fair-weather system moves further offshore, the winds will become more southwesterly. This will drag unusually warm weather through the region.
It started today, but it will really start heating up tomorrow.
The forecast on Wednesday is sunny and 89, but I can see 90+ degrees arriving. Thursday and Friday will also reach the upper 80s and low 90s.
Rain and storms will develop along a frontal structure that will once again bring unsettled/ and stormy weather into the forecast area, especially on Friday and Saturday.
Will the entire weekend be a washout? It’s still too early for that call, but right now, sunshine looks to be at a disadvantage.
