Students marked their last day at Cardinal McCarrick High as the school prepares to close for good.
They attended a Mass across the street at St. Mary's Church Friday morning as they bid farewell to their teachers and friends.
Parents and students learned about plans to close the school last month. The school's administrator said in a statement, "It was not just one factor that led to the decision. The accumulated weight of so many issues indicated that there was no option but to close the school."
Cardinal McCarrick students can transfer to Bishop AHR High School in Edison, but many have chosen to attend Mater Dei in Middletown instead.
