Hundreds of Validus Prep Academy students took part in a march against violence Tuesday in honor of two classmates who were shot and killed.
The marchers, who will be part of the Bathgate Avenue school's first graduating class, are remembering the deaths of two students, 18-year-old Martin Jackson and 17-year-old Nadiree Walters, who were killed in 2008.
?We're hurt, but at the same time we're strong,? says Unique Manigault, a junior at the school. ?We [want to] say this violence should stop! Nothing good comes out of acts like these and we want to express that.?
In addition to the march, the school put together workshops and performances to express their message against violence.
