Donald Farrell, the Rowan University student beaten to death on the school?s campus a week ago, was laid to rest in Mountain Lakes Saturday.
Farrell, 19, was approached by a group of men Oct. 28 while on his way to a party. The men attacked him, robbing, beating and kicking him. Farrell died of his injuries the following day.
Rev. Patrick Rice, Farrell?s lifelong pastor, talked about a promising life cut too short. "He loved family and he loved his faith and he loved his friends?? he said.
Aaron Taslitz, one of Farrell?s high school classmates, said spoke of the impression he made on him. ?He was a real unique person, and if anything it was his kindness that made him unparallel [to] other people,? he said.
Facebook groups dedicated to Farrell?s memory have been set up as well.
Police continue to search for the men responsible for Farrell?s death. They don?t believe the men were Rowan students. Police have released a sketch of the primary suspect and surveillance video taken at a nearby convenience store.
Police are offering a $50,000 reward to anyone with information leading to the arrest of Farrell?s killer.
