Cyclists call for DOT to finish bike lane project on 4th Avenue

Cyclists, street advocates and elected officials are calling on the Department of Transportation to complete protected bike lanes across the borough's entire Fourth Avenue.
The Fourth Avenue project, which began in 2017, spans from First Street to 64th Street and aims to improve bike safety along the roadway.
Cyclists say the bike lanes should stretch even further, starting at Atlantic Avenue, continuing through Bay Ridge.
The DOT said in a statement, "After making significant progress this year, we plan to resume work in the spring."
