June 7 is National Doughnut Day! The date is celebrated the first Friday in June. It honors the Salvation Army Lassies, the women that served doughnuts to soldiers during WWI, according to National Day Calendar.
Here are some of the nationwide spots where you can score a deal on doughnuts:
Cumberland Farms: Free doughnut with purchase of any dispensed beverage from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Duck Donuts: Customers can enjoy one free bare, cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar donut. No coupon necessary. It's valid in stores only, at participating locations.
Dunkin' Donuts: Guests can get a free classic donut of their choice with the purchase of any beverage. Dunkin's special offer to ring in the holiday is good all day at participating locations while supplies last.
Entenmann's: The company is running a contest to find its next new doughnut flavor. The Fan Flavor Challenge & Sweepstakes runs until June 14.
Krispy Kreme: Customers get one free doughnut! But what's better than one free doughnut? Two! If the company gives away 1 million doughnuts on National Doughnut Day, it will offer another doughnut giveaway later this month.

Walmart: Walmart is offering free samples of Seattle's Best coffee and doughnuts at participating stores.
