What a day. Severe weather brought an abrupt end to the vicious heat, but the humidity hasn't eased yet.
Unfortunately, if your neighborhood or town is without power, it is going to be an uncomfortable night until power is restored. The winds behind the nasty weather will change direction and usher in a more bearable warmth for Friday.
Daytime temperatures will reach the upper 80s and just a smidgeon of muggy air will make it feel like summer. Which it will be. Tomorrow is the first day of summer. More of the sun's rays will continue to shine down on the northern hemisphere, warming us up for the next few months.
Fair weather slowly moves offshore, which will allow a return of that Carolina air sliding up the East Coast. A huge dome of heat will smother most of the East Coast starting on Sunday and lasting through Wednesday.
The peak of the heat will be Monday and Tuesday. Daily highs could reach triple digits on both days. With the air expected to be brutally humid, it will feel more like 105 to 110 degrees at times. Please be prepared for the most dangerous heat New Jersey has seen in some time.
