With the daily high temperature at Newark Liberty International Airport only getting to 54 degrees this afternoon, a new record-low high temperature was broken.
The old record was 56 degrees, set back in 2003. We set the bar lower today for dreary and cool afternoon highs.
A leftover shower will be milling about tonight. Temperatures will be in the low 50s again. Low clouds will continue to cling to the area, with patchy dense fog developing.
Please be more cautious when leaving for work and school in the morning. Limited-to-no sunshine again for tomorrow. The winds will begin to shift to the west and our temperatures should be a little warmer, but still below average.
The unofficial start to summer kicks off this weekend and it will be rain-free. Cloudy and coolish for Saturday. Highs are in the upper 50s and low 60s, but sunshine will dramatically bring the seasonable temperatures back to life for Sunday and Monday. Mainly sunny with highs in the low 70s.
