Today's warmth and humidity are helping to fuel some slow-moving thunderstorms.
Flooding and lightning will be the primary concerns tonight. These storms will lose their punch later tonight and fizzle. The skies will be cloudy and patchy fog will develop, especially in neighborhoods where it rained.
The weather remains August-like for the remainder of the week. The chances for stormy weather tomorrow are fading. I can’t rule out an isolated storm, but chances are looking less likely.
Temperatures will be in the upper 80s and low 90s through the weekend, but the weather will remain sunny and storm-free.
Tropical Storm Erin will develop into a hurricane by tomorrow night. It's still days out before we really know where the storm truly tracks, but the meteorological evidence is pointing to the storm passing off the New Jersey beaches by this time next week.
Rough conditions at the Shore are looking more likely.
