Monday was Day 3 of unsettled weather in the Garden State. We are likely looking at this pattern to persist until Friday.
I know it's dreary and mentally draining, not seeing the sun. But let's look at the weather pattern this way - we need the water. It will help saturate the extremely dry grounds that have contributed to the numerous wildfires that have destroyed tens of thousands of acres just over the last two weeks alone.
It will also help the drought situation of the last year and a half. A few days of consistent light rain absorbs into the ground much better than if it poured all at once. That scenario always means flooding and basically a waste of much-needed resources.
It's a nuisance, but it's a great thing in the long run.
The weather is improving by the weekend, with sunshine and temperatures in the low 70s. A picture-perfect forecast.
