A series of weak weather systems will be traveling through the state early this week. The first round of rain was Sunday night with snow, ice and rain. The weather has remained rather murky. Fog and mist making for downcast drivers on our streets and highways today.
Fair weather will briefly slide into the region tomorrow afternoon. Sunshine will pop out from behind that curtain of clouds and temperatures will warm into the mid to possible upper 50s for Tuesday afternoon. The normal high for mid-December is 44.
The weather will remain tranquil through Tuesday night into early Wednesday. Another pesky, inconvenient, system drops in late Wednesday evening with more rain. This round of rain will also help yank colder Canadian air back toward New Jersey for the remainder of the week.
Starting Thursday and continuing through the weekend, it will be getting steadily colder. Right on cue too. Winter officially arrives on Saturday at 4:41 p.m. Sunday will be the coldest day of the weekend. Morning lows in the single digits and teens.
