Showers continue overnight, with an easterly breeze and chilly temperatures near 50 degrees.
Rain may become heavy at times toward Thursday morning, making for a slow commute, with the chance for minor local street flooding.
Heavy rain should come to an end around lunchtime Thursday, but showers will continue through the day, with gusty winds and chilly temperatures, with highs near 56 degrees. Easterly winds will gust 20 to 40 mph.
Clouds linger for Friday, with the slight chance for spot showers followed by a slow improvement for the weekend.
Saturday will be mostly cloudy, with highs near 65 degrees.
Expect more sunshine and warmer temperatures for Sunday and Monday, with highs in the 60s to near 70 degrees.
The best chance for planes to fly at the Jones Beach Air Show will be Saturday afternoon and Sunday.
