Hundreds of parents packed the East Brook School gymnasium Monday looking for answers about possible soil contamination at a Paramus school.Parents received an apology from the school board about how the situation at Westbrook Middle School was handled. However, they are still waiting on answers. Some people thanked the school board for the meeting but others, like Rosa Rizolo, still have questions about why it took months to learn about the contamination. "I'm really upset. I don't know if my children should be tested. I don't have any answers," said Rizolo. Earlier tests conducted by the Environmental Protection Agency revealed the level of contaminants in the soil outside of the school was 10 times higher than federal regulations allow.Members of the school board promised better communication, as well as continued soil testing at all Paramus schools. The board also promised to answer all questions within two days.
