State police rescue distressed boaters from Manasquan River
New Jersey State Police rescued several boaters whose boats began to take on water in the Manasquan River in Brielle. Officials say that one of the boats became stuck in low tide near Treasure Island.

New Jersey State Police rescued several boaters whose boats began to take on water in the Manasquan River in Brielle.
Officials say that one of the boats became stuck in low tide near Treasure Island. The other boat tried to tow the boat back into the river, but soon both boats were taking on water.
One of the boat owners tells News 12 New Jersey that he was picking up a boat in need of engine work. While towing the vessel his boat suffered a pump failure and began taking on water.
It was officials who instructed him to tie the boats together, but the tide came in, trapping the boats.
The state police, Coast Guard and local officials responded and were able to get the people off of the boats.
No one was hurt.
