State police recover body of missing swimmer in Lake Hopatcong
State police have recovered the body of a swimmer who went missing while swimming in Lake Hopatcong over the weekend.
Officials recovered the body of Avinash Kuna, 32, of Parsippany, Monday around 6:09 p.m. from Henderson Cove.
According to state police, Kuna was last seen Saturday when he entered the water from a pontoon boat he rented for his birthday -- and submerged without resurfacing.
His friends say when he jumped off the boat to go swimming, he screamed something was pulling him down.
They weren't able to save him before he went under.
