State police: Fire that closed Garden State Parkway for hours was intentionally set

New Jersey state troopers are searching for the people responsible for setting a fire that closed both directions of the Garden State Parkway for hours Wednesday evening.

New Jersey state troopers are searching for the people responsible for setting a fire that closed both directions of the Garden State Parkway for hours Wednesday evening.
The fire was reported around 5 p.m. in Brick Township. The Parkway was closed in both directions between exits 90 and 91.
Police say that the fire was started within a drainage culvert that runs underneath the highway.
The people who started the fire are believed to have possibly been juveniles. They were seen running into the Evergreen Woods Park Apartment complex located near the Parkway.
