We have 3 beautiful ladies here in studio for Spotlight New Jersey. Pamela Allen is the CEO of Where to Go. Kayla Cluff is a model and Pamela's daughter. She also has several other titles. Tasha Byram is also a model. Tell us about this fashion show you're holding at Pine's Manor on September 27th from noon to 4, who it's dedicated to. It's dedicated to actually Donna was my top model, one of my top models, and she passed away two years ago. I actually met her in church when I was in my twenties and she ended up being my spiritual sister, spiritual sister, yes, and I would watch her model. She would just like she had this like bob hairs uh cut and she would model and her hair would just fling around. I'm like, oh, I wanna do that. I wanna do that, but I don't keep my hair long enough to even do that. It's still, it moves, right? But yeah, she passed away two years ago and I wanted to dedicate this show to her. And I'm gonna give an award out to her family. I'm gonna donate um money to the church because she I actually was in the Usher board she was the president of the Usher board and so I wanna do that. I wanna dedicate um. To show and donate money to the church and you know I miss her. I hear her in my ear whenever I'm I'm doing scenes because she was always there, Pam, do it this way. She would even pay the makeup artist and I didn't even know it. I'm like, Donna, did you pay the makeup artists because I would go to pay them and they're already paid. She was just a angel, just a angel. So this show is dedicated to Donna Donna Lona Lowe Alexander and actually she was the. Uh, president of Urban League and she had retired from there and then, uh, maybe a year after that she passed away. Yeah, she means a lot to you. Yes, your mother who was a model. Oh yes, my mom, she looks just like just like my mother was a model, actually a cineho for I think it was Jet magazine. She was in a few of those magazines and when I was younger I was very shy. Still a little bit. No one would believe that, but I was shy, but my mother had 7 kids and each child she could tell, OK, wait, they have a gift. She would put the camera on me and I would come alive and they, I would just start posing. She said, This child needs to be a model and she put me in different schools. to learn how to how to walk, how to pose, how to just get my confidence up and it worked, you know, so that's what I'm doing for other ladies. I'm trying to give them the confidence that I didn't have when I was younger and now I know how to bring that now to to women. These two photos were taken by photographer Colin Mendez at noon. We'll take a walk down memory lane with Pamela. She, Kayla, and Tasha also share their stories of how modeling is inspiring them. You are looking at three ladies who are involved with where to go. They're holding a fashion show at Pine's Manor in Edison on September 27th from noon to 4. Pamela Allen is the CEO of Where to Go. She's also the event coordinator. Kayla Cluff is a model and her daughter Tasha Byram is also a model. Let's talk about some pictures we have of you from your youth up till now. Oh yes. Didn't I tell you my mother, she would put the camera on me I would just come alive. I just come out with a pole. She's like, look at this girl, you know, I was so shy because I wouldn't speak. I wouldn't talk. I wouldn't speak. I, I, I don't know where that came from because my family, I told you 7 kids. I was the, I'm the youngest of all of them, and she would just put the camera and I just, you know, just hey, OK, how do you want me to pose? Just start doing my little pose and stuff, but that's how my confidence came out. Yeah, you come a long way like that commercial says. It sounds like it's done wonders for you also for you, Kayla, and you, Tasha. Please share your stories. Yeah, sure, um, for me I definitely used to be a shy kid. You can talk about this, um, and I think, uh, definitely throwing me into the deep end, so to speak, in terms of putting me on the runway at a young age you have that photo that I just saw recently. It's a photo of my sister and I on the on the runway, um, and then this photo right here it's a picture, a good friend, photographer of mine, photographer friend of mine. And took and I remember I think my first runway experience I was definitely nervous but I think the more anything that takes a muscle so to speak, whether it's confidence and also just natural natural ability it's gonna take time but the way that my mom's able to just be authentic and herself not only with models but just her daily life, I think it also just gave me more of that ounce of confidence just to. Be like, OK, if I can do a if I can walk a runway, what else can I do? right? um, so yeah, I think for me it's, it's definitely been, uh, it's been great also just watching that part of her blossom as I keep going about my life as well. Tasha, what about you? I'm constantly always thinking Pam every chance I get, I think Pam. She's like, Oh, you're doing your thing. I'm like, it's all because of you, that fashion show back in 2017. I love oh there it is, yes, I love that dress, favorite. Tasha turned 50 on September 4th. She's pictured here with her adorable children and family. She says she's just traveling and enjoying life. Happy birthday. Tomorrow at 6 a.m., Pamela talks about their community outreach for seniors.

These three ladies are with where to go. They're putting on a fashion show on September 27th at Pine's Manor in Edison. We're also talking about their lives and other fun stuff. Pamela Allen is the CEO. Kayla Cluff is a model and her daughter. Tisha Byram is also a model. Yes, you do a. Lot of community outreach. Yes, it actually started with my mother. My mother moved into a senior community and they didn't have anything to do, so I said, you know what, they need some activities. So I went to the office and I said, you know, I would like to put on a fashion show and this was had to be about 15 years ago. So you know instead of having them change clothes I did a accessories necklaces and belts and they loved it that's a great idea. I know they loved it I you know and they were walking and I had my husband as one of the the guys with the little tuxs on and I had my brother helping out and so they really loved it. So now what I do, I go into senior communities. I just did one in Monroe Township last year. And we did a fashion show. They loved it came alive. I said, OK, let me show you how to do this walk I showed them one time they got it. They loved it. So that's what I'm doing and someone called me yesterday and they wanna do uh another senior, uh, fashion show, and it helps with their self-esteem. A lot of them are, are lonely, you know, so you know they that helps them, you know, say, oh, I, I still feel pretty helps with them walking a lot of them have problems with their legs, so. I'll show them how to walk. I may not put heel, you know, heels on them, but I'll just have them walk, you know, with the shoes that they can wear, and they strut and they strut. Oh man, do they strut they come alive. They're like, Oh, I got this. Oh pimp. So I have a few of them in the show because they were in the one last year, so I have a oh they love it. Oh my God, yeah, do you two love watching that when they're in the show? Yes, and you can just tell how excited it makes them feel, right? Yeah, coming alive like that. It's beautiful. The part I love the most, so Pam did a segment in 2017 where she asked all the models, what's your favorite attribute? What do you love about yourself? And I was like, oh, I love my legs. I love this, I love that, everything except for what the panel chose. So the panel was asked the same thing what do you see in the models, what stands out the most and they came up with my eyes. And that was the least favorite of them all, OK. Why? Because they're beautiful, beautiful, thank you, but growing up it's so much childhood trauma behind it. I was always teased like oh she's so cute looking at little turtle, looking at frog, and it's all because of the bags under my eyes so. You know, building up, building up, and then you go to middle school, you go to high school, and one of my friends who was a guy at the time, um, he said to me, you would be so much prettier if you had *** eyes. I was like, oh my God, another stab at my eyes. So the fashion show was an awakening for me. And ever since then I play up my eyes now. I embrace them, I bat them. I pose with my eyes and everything. You go, Tasha, you tell them. Here's a photo of Pamela and her husband at night. She explains how they launched this business with an RV they renovated that means a lot to her.

Where to Go is based in Middlesex County, specifically Monroe Township. Pamela Allen is the CEO. Kayla Clough is a model and her daughter. Tasha Byram is also a model. They are joining us here in studio right now. You and your husband started this company together. What about 10 years ago, 2 years ago. Congratulations. Thank you. How did it come about? And the name, how did it come out the name? OK, so. I always wanted to be a stylist. Actually I always wanted a stylist to come to my home, of course. So I said to my husband, Well, I was gonna get a brick and mortar, a store just to put all the clothes. I said, you know what? Why don't we buy an RV? He said, a RV? What's wrong with you? I said an RV. I mean, you know, we can change it to a store. He said, how are we gonna do that? I said, Well, look, just trust me on this. So we went looking for an RV and I found a 1999. Jco RV and I said we he opened the door it was a mess. It was like a old couch a old, uh, refrigerator we gutted everything out, you know, he because he's very good at doing that stuff, you know, so thank goodness, yes, he gutted it out we put uh uh a bathroom in there it was really nice vessel sink. We put a couch, a new couch we had hanging space for the clothing. It was just nice, so we, I wanted to do, I wanted to go to people homes and be a stylist, a mobile stylist, and that's what I did. husbands would hire me to surprise their wives to shop, you know, so you had a private shopper. I did closet organizing. I did all of that in that RV then the pandemic hit. And that's when it just totally shut down and then it just, you know, but where to go, that's where I got the name from because WEAR wear clothing that you wear on the go, so when the RV, you know, COVID hit and the RV shut down. Where to go. I can still do fashion shows on the go. I still can do everything online, so it's still where to go. So yes, where to go. So a lot of people, where'd you get that name from? because you wear the clothes that you have, you know, so a stylist at an affordable price on the go, and that's what I am. And how go ahead I was gonna say it's very inspiring also just watching uh my mom and Joel build this from. Essentially the ground up right to to reconstruct an RV and really make this something beautiful and not only for one person but for some for the community in a sense right because you're you're being you're you have this experience where you can walk in and experience and just walk in wall to wall and be like oh I can grab this dress and I can accessorize it with this necklace and then from my own perspective, you know, I'm I have a background in news and. Um, but being able to, but with I guess the changes in, in the industry, it's nice to be, it's nice to have a front hand, a front seat look at what entrepreneurship looks like as I keep growing into a media consultant and a freelance writer and a senior producer, so it's also it's nice having that influence right right in front of me.

The ladies here from Where to Go are talking about the business itself and the modeling on stage and their fashion show and in our last segment, Tasha, you had a thought. Yes, Pam is being very modest about this mobile unit, OK? It was like a, a fitting room on wheels, but it was jazzy, it was snazzy. She had the nice music, she had refreshments in there, the jewelry hanging down, it was amazing. So it wasn't just cloth, a clothes rack and a little jewelry. It was a whole array and I oh I was gonna say a a Pam's signature is rhinestones from her car to the boutique rhinestone bedazzled out, you know, when you have to give it up because of COVID, you know, it's, it's sad. It was like breaking up, you know, with. Your your business, but I realized I could do it, you know, on the without the RV, you know, but I miss it. I really do miss it but now we're to go, we're doing styling, we're gonna start doing consulting, um, bridal consulting, how to put on your own fashion show from A to Z. I take a blank piece of paper and start from that. And so I mean that's what I'm doing now, you know, so I don't really need the RV anymore even though I miss it, but it served its purpose. Yes, it did it rest in peace, and Pamela, Pamela, your daughter Kayla, you add a lot to her business with the skills you bring to the table. Go ahead and tell me what the, yeah, I mean, even just, um, well, she's a natural producer on her own. Um, and I think it's nice to be, be able to collaborate with my mom in that way and just like you said, add value to it and maybe there's just a that's something that she didn't think to amplify it. I'm already thinking about the next the fashion shows coming up, but I'm already thinking about how to make it even better, um, just with different types of sponsorships and ways that can also, um, uh. Incorporate young women into it so they can know that this is something you can do too um from across across the range of um from ethnicities and and ages so and she's I'm sorry she she is such a good help, you know, to have someone with all her skills to help me it's like amazing. I like Kayla, what do you think about this? She said, OK, just let me look at it. Let me look at it that's so she's like a consultant, yeah, I am. What do you want people to walk away from about where to go? I want you to walk away if I can look into this camera, just walk away that where to go. I want you to have confidence in whatever size you are, whatever you wanna wear. I mean, I, I don't believe, oh, you can't wear this at a certain age. You can wear whatever makes you happy. Tasha had such beautiful high praise about Pamela and Kayla. I wanted to share it with you. I love the daughter and mom dynamic to watch it live and in person, it's motivating to me. um I hope my daughter will be similar to Kayla, right? It's only one Kayla, but I would love this dynamic with my daughter.
