Today marks the official first day of summer and the return of Splish Splash's weekday schedule.

Previously, the park in Calverton was open only on weekends, excluding yesterday's Juneteenth holiday.

Park officials are excited that this weekend is expected to bring bigger crowds after most of the month having rain on part of the weekends. The 7-day-a-week schedule comes at the perfect time, with a heatwave expected to blanket the area next week.

This year, park-goers are in store for a whole season of thrills and entertainment as the water park debuts the all-new Stingray Bay water play area, adds its first-ever night event, Neon Nights, and debuts an all-new luxury cabana experience.
