A woman from South Plainfield is one of the latest troops killed in Iraq.
Sgt. Trista Moretti, 27, died Monday after her unit was attacked by insurgents. She is the second female soldier from New Jersey to die in Iraq.
Morretti's family raised a banner in front of their home Wednesday afternoon that read, ?Our Brave Hero Will Always Be Remembered.?
Moretti joined the Army four years ago and worked as an intelligence analyst. She graduated from South Plainfield High School in 1998.
"Trista was representative of the all-American girl. She was a good kid, she tried to do what was right all of the time,? South Plainfield High School Principal Dr. Kenneth May said.
The Moretti family said in a statement, ?Trista Moretti will always be remembered as a loving and generous daughter, sister and friend. She was a brave soldier who courageously served her country sacrificing her life for the lives of others."
