An injured child was discovered Friday next to her mother's dead body in the Great Swamp Wildlife Refuge in Long Hill Township.
Sources tell News 12 New Jersey the woman tried to strangle her 10-year-old daughter and then committed suicide. The girl was taken to Morristown Hospital where her condition is not yet unknown.
Police have not released the woman's identity or motive.
