A South Brunswick man is lucky to be alive, thanks to the quick thinking of his three sons and two police officers.
James Hart suffered a heart attack outside his home after coaching his sons’ basketball game.
The sons – Daniel, Gabriel and Sam – immediately started to perform CPR.
"I turn him over and I see that there's blood in his face and his nose. So my first thought, when I learned chest compressions, is to turn him over and start doing it,” says Daniel Hart.
The last efforts by two police officers got his pulse back.
“Thankfully, the boys were smart enough to perform CPR and did it in such a swift fashion and called 911, it allowed me to stay alive,” says James Hart.
James suffered what’s called a “widow maker” heart attack, but he is expected to make a full recovery.
